The most sensitive method for confirming infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is the molecular method recommended by the World Health Organisation. Test detects the virus’s genetic material (RT-PCR method). The test should be performed as soon as possible after the first clinical symptoms of COVID-19 or soon after contact with an infected person.
