We have been recognized!

On 12.05 – 13.05.2023, in Katowice, representatives of the Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia: Katarzyna Jesse and Marzena Dyhdalewicz, and Acellmed – bio-tech innovations for improving health and quality of life: Joanna Zembala-John, PhD MA MPH participated in the 5th International Conference “Innovations in Ophthalmology”.

During the Conference, a joint poster was presented, entitled. “Innovative method of manufacturing hydrogel dressing for autologous corneal stroma cell transplantation in the treatment of corneal stroma cell deficiency”, which summarizes the activities to date in the project “Scaffold for corneal reconstruction using 3D printing and bioprinting”, implemented under the Priority Axis I. Modern Economy 1.2 Research, Development and Innovation in Enterprises, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Program of the Silesian Voivodeship 2014-2020.

Thanks to the cooperation of the entire Team, including Acellmed and Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia researchers, clinical specialists: Dariusz Dobrowolski, M.D., Ph.D. (Chair and Clinical Department of Ophthalmology, SUM, Zabrze; Clinical Department of Ophthalmology, St. Barbara Regional Specialized Hospital No. 5 – Trauma Center), Dariusz Dobrowolski, Ph. med. Marek Ćwirko (Clinical Ophthalmology Center “Spektrum”, Wrocław), and veterinary specialists from the Department of Surgery of the Wrocław University of Life Sciences, under the direction of Prof. Zdzisław Kiełbowicz, Ph.D. Our project received an honorable mention, given by the Scientific Committee of the Conference, consisting of: Prof. dr. hab. n. med. Ewa Mrukwa-Kominek, Prof. dr. hab. n. med. Maria Formińska-Kapuścik, Prof. dr. hab. n. med. Bronisława Koraszewska-Matuszewska and Dr. hab. n. med. Erita Filipek.
