Final of the prestigious “Marka Śląskie 2024″ („Sielsian Brand 2024”) competition in the “Health” category!

The Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia (KMS) was nominated for the final of the “Śląskie Brand 2024” competition in the “Health” category, along with: the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze, and the Upper Silesian Medical Center Hospital in Ochojec (GCM).

ŚPTM Kardio-Med Silesia won in the “Health” category! This is a great distinction for our young team at ŚPTM Kardio-Med Silesia! We congratulate all the finalists of this competition and thank the RIPH in Gliwice (the competition organizer) and the jury of the “Śląskie Brand 2024” competition for recognizing our efforts toward the development of innovative medicine in the Silesian region – a province that has been a leader in Poland and the EU in innovative medicine for many years.

It is worth noting that ŚPTM Kardio-Med Silesia was established in 2013 at the initiative of Prof. Marian Zembala (a physician, scientist, cardiac surgeon, transplantologist, longtime General Director of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze, and former Minister of Health of the Republic of Poland) and Ms. Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, Mayor of Zabrze (from 2006-2024). Thanks to the vision and determination of these individuals, a unique research, implementation, and training center was created in Zabrze, providing opportunities to conduct research for the MedTech and BioTech i.ndustries, from discovery, through preclinical research (in vitro and in vivo) to clinical trials, in both GLP and non-GLP standards.

Since its inception, ŚPTM Kardio-Med Silesia has:

• Secured and implemented 22 research and research-implementation grants funded by NCN, NCBiR, ABM, Ministry of Health, RPO WSL, and the EU Horizon program
• Published 68 scientific papers affiliated with KMS, accumulating 6,505 points in the MNiSW system, with an impact factor of 265.256
• Examined over 190,000 patients
• Trained over 1,000 physicians and other medical professionals
• Provided care for more than 4,000 patients in its professional Medical Telemonitoring Center under five telemedicine projects implemented by KMS

We also congratulate Mr. Adam Konka, MBA, President of ŚPTM Kardio-Med Silesia, for receiving a distinction in this competition: “Śląskie Brand 2024” in the “Personality of the Year 2024” category!
