The Silesian Center for Heart Diseases & the Foundation of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases

The Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze is a modern, highly specialized heart center, recognized nationwide and internationally for its outstanding clinical and scientific achievements in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.

The Center offers the broadest possible spectrum of diagnostics, therapeutic and surgical treatment options for both congenital and acquired heart diseases. Patients presenting symptoms of acute coronary syndromes are treated immediately by well trained and experienced cardiologists ready to perform any kind of percutaneous intervention twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. In case of any difficulties cardiac surgeons are always on standby, prepared to take over.

Silesian Center is also known for its exceptional chronic heart failure program. It has been over 30 years since the first successful heart transplantation was carried out in Zabrze. Since then, more than 50 are performed every year, placing the Center in the leading position among other centers across Europe. Based on the excellent outcomes and experience in heart transplantation is the Center`s lung transplant program. Despite its recent beginnings, it offers severely ill patients with chronic lung disease a hope they have been waiting for.

The Foundation of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases was created by the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in 2004 and since then it has been involved in the protection and promotion of health, science and education. The main goal of the foundation is to support activities of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze.
