Finale of the prestigious “Marka Śląskie 2024” („Silesian Brand 2024”) competition in the “Personality of the Year” category!

Yesterday, the Grand Finale Gala of the “Marka Śląskie 2024” competition took place at Arena Gliwice, organized by the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Gliwice since the 15th edition.

In the “Personality of the Year” category, the finalists were:

– Krzysztof Szaliński – CEO of PEC-Gliwice

– Henryk Orczykowski – CEO of STALPROFIL S.A.

– Jack Bialik – Vice President and Board Member of the Katowice Special Economic Zone, Gliwice Subzone

– Prof. Dr. hab. Jan Duława – Research and Teaching Professor at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice

– Adam Konka – CEO of the Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia

As CEO Adam Konka of ŚPTM Kardio-Med Silesia himself acknowledged, just being selected as a finalist is a great honor for him! Silesia, with its positive energy, is a dynamically developing region in many fields in Poland. The development of the start-up ecosystem, R&D initiatives, medicine, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, telemedicine, and the #MedTech and #BioTech sectors, in which Adam Konka is actively involved, are considered intelligent specializations of the region, aligning with Poland’s national smart specializations.

The Jury, composed of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, the President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Gliwice, the Program Director of Polish Radio Katowice, the CEO of Polska Press, the Rector of WSB Academy, the Chairman of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, the President of the Chamber of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises in Katowice, the Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, the Rector of the University of Economics in Katowice, and the Rector of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, recognized Adam Konka’s contributions to the development of the Silesian region. As a result, in this prestigious competition for the Silesian region, Adam Konka was awarded an Honorable Mention in the “Personality of the Year” category of “Śląskie Brand 2024.”

The main prize in the “Personality of the Year 2024” category was awarded to Prof. Jan Duława, a doctor and scientist, currently the head of the Clinic of Internal and Metabolic Diseases at the Medical University of Silesia; Silesian Voivodeship consultant for internal diseases, and former Vice-Rector of the Medical University of Silesia from 2008 to 2016. Warm congratulations from the entire team at ŚPTM Kardio-Med Silesia to Prof. Jan Duława for winning this category!

At this Final Gala, CEO Adam Konka also accepted the Main Award granted to the Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia team in the “Health” category. We thank the Jury of the “Śląskie Brand” competition for recognizing our commitment, achievements, and work.
