Another important area of training carried out by Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia is training, which will be initiated in October 2023 in so-called “battlefield medicine.” In view of the threats of military conflict, which began on February 24, 2022 on European soil, when the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine, Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia, together with specialists in battlefield medicine and emergency medicine, is introducing training into its cyclical program. The training is intended for soldiers performing medical functions (rescuers who have completed the course of qualified first aid, paramedics and doctors) who are on active duty, as part of improving the professional qualifications of these groups of specialists in case of potential threats to the defense of the territory and citizens of the Republic of Poland. The practical scope of the training includes procedures, i.e. supplying evisceration, stopping bleeding, amputation of the hind limb, decompression of pneumothorax and conicotomy, increasing the chances of the wounded to survive in the conditions of prolonged care of the injured on the battlefield and the subsequent possibility of safe evacuation to higher levels of medical security.
