CHASER – NCBiR

Nowadays problem of anticoagulation treatment affects 15% out of persons older than 60 years , therefore around 65 million individuals in Europe. Moreover, the number of commercially available anticoagulation drugs has been rising. For surgeons, general practitioners and patients, this situation generates a significant challenge.

Although, the guidelines of various specialist societies provide recommendations and instructions on how to proceed an anticoagulation treatment , there is no consensus for decision-making. Therefore, an interdisciplinary approach is essential to simplify the handling of anticoagulants.

The aim of the project is to develop a mobile application for supporting the decision-making process in the anticoagulation treatment with an educational module for patients and their relatives.

The project is carried out in an international consortium whose leader  – from the German side – is the Department of Urology in Freiburg (UKF), on the Polish side the project is implemented by Department of Cardiology of the Warsaw University of Medicine and Silesian Park for Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia with the industrial partners: Human Interface Design and Heart Team.
