GLP Research Unit – Laboratory infrastructure

The Silesian Park of Medical Technology Kardio-Med Silesia has dedicated laboratories and animal Facility for Small and Large Animals. The infrastructure of the Multispecialty Laboratory and Histology Laboratory consists of modern equipment of the highest quality dedicated to cell culture under sterile conditions, preparation of test and reference materials. The laboratory is equipped with a 3D Printer, Biodruster Cytometer, Spectophotometer or Rheometer.

The animal Facility for Small Animals allows keeping mice, rats, rabbits or guinea pigs. The breeding cages are individually ventilated and equipped with HEPA filters. Environmental parameters in each room are monitored by an integrated system. The animal Facility for Large Animals is adapted to house pigs, which are housed in separate box equipped with heart monitors and heated mats during aftercare. The structure of the animal Facility for Large Animals also includes an operating room, equipped with equipment such as an angiograph, extracorporeal circulation equipment, cardiac monitors and an operating microscope.
